currently studying to become a machinist. One of the high school students gave me a purple file while I was going through the shooting phase. A valuable tool in our toolbox when trying to keep your lathe tools sharp and clean. I didn't have to sharpen my turning tools at all when they started to dull. Run the purple file over the edge a few times and it worked. That saved me a lot of time and that's valuable for the driver.
