I have 4 aquariums of different sizes. The siphon is MANDATORY for water changes. I change the bucket because I prefer not to do it to/from the sink, but such systems exist. So if you do water changes like I do, always have a separate siphon for each tank first to avoid cross-contamination. I actually needed a new siphon for one of my 20 gallon tanks so when I was offered this Tetra siphon I was absolutely ready to try it. At the time of review, this siphon costs $10.49. The siphon is delivered in one package. The siphon is made from a very strong hose, just enough so that it doesn't kink or kink when you change the water (that can be a problem). This is a very simple siphon gravity with a starting hand pump. The clear vacuum end goes into the tank - with this you have to put your hand/hand in the tank to control the vacuum suction cup - I prefer the longer hard vacuum ends so I don't have to do that - gives for easier control like a hose if it is in the bucket and flow control (if necessary, disconnect the hose). This annoys me, but these aren't uncommon configurations - just a consideration. The bucket end of this hose is just a cut end - it doesn't have a plastic end with any kind of plug on it to prevent it from falling out of the bucket mount and spilling - so you have to watch out for the end of the hose. little more than some that offer it. So knowing I'm putting the bucket on the towel on the chair to give the hose more slack and less chance of slipping out and spilling also gives me more time to put my hand in the tank to vacuum the substrate and pull it out. Water. After the hand pump turned on the siphon it worked very well and I had no problems preparing it this way. It's definitely a decent siphon, and it's not so big that it's difficult to store. I could change the length of the end of the vacuum and add a piece of plastic to the end to hold it in the bucket holder, otherwise the hose is very strong and the hand pump, which seems to fail after a while, seems better made of plastic than the plastic Majority. So aside from what I consider a design flaw, this is actually a very good option for a siphon.
