$6 is ok, looks the same as the original remote control. You can access the menu, volume, timer, etc. What you can't achieve is that the soundbar's volume isn't controlled. So it just raises or lowers the TV's volume, creating an echo-delayed sound, along with a very terrible factory TV sound with lots of highs and very little frequency response. Therefore, you need to increase the volume of the soundbar manually. The original remote worked well with the soundbar, although the soundbar is Boston Acoustics and the TV is Toshiba. Not worth sending it back for a refund. Nowadays ordinary junk is sold.
