Review on Metal Bike Motorcycle Mount Unbreakable by David Bowens

Buy the metal version - even if the ball joint is plastic and not 100% secured

I switched from plastic to metal because I was replacing another similar plastic product that was left in the garage after a cold winter has fallen apart. Installation was easy, I had to use the largest loop to fit my handlebars. The knurled screw helps to tighten the clamp. The ball joint is plastic so I hope it doesn't fall apart after this winter. I rode 22 miles on tarmac and concrete with lots of bumps. The rubber strap didn't budge, nor did the clamp mount, but the ball socket slipped and couldn't stay in place, so I rotated the phone to the horizontal (sideways) orientation, which allowed the phone to rest on the steering wheel and minimize movement. I was afraid to tighten the plastic clamp on the ball joint even more and risk breaking it. It is finger tightened, not sure I want to use a wrench as this part is plastic and not a metal clip. I wish someone could make a metal ball socket similar to a camera tripod ball head so it can be tightened so it doesn't move.
