I usually mount computer fans directly to the case. My new build was very quiet, but I could notice that some vibration noise was transmitted to the computer case and the case acted like a sound box. I had never tried these rubber isolators before and decided to give it a try. Remember that there are 2 different rooms. A thinner gap is installed on the case side and a thicker gap is installed on the fan side. When installing, install on the fan first as it takes quite a bit of force to pull them through the screw hole. You'll feel like you're about to break the small pieces, but just keep pulling and they'll eventually pop out. After that, line up the holes in the case and pull through. The difference in sound is simply amazing. I am very happy with the purchase and will be using them in all my future builds.
