Review on 📀 Hewlett Packard DVD300e 4x2.4x8 External DVD+RW Drive with FireWire/USB 2.0 Connectivity by Terry Gernes

This is the perfect addition for anyone who owns a laptop with a FireWire or USB 2.0 port. For a FireWire connection you will need a 4 pin to 6 pin FireWire cable as the kit comes with 6 to 6 pins. Installation was easy and took about 2 minutes. Installing the software was also easy. Includes Veritas RecordNow, SimpleBackup, DLA and ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD. I can't install DLA because I already have Roxio Easy CD Creastor 5.3 installed. Reading other people's reviews of the HP DVD200 (precursor to this DVD300), it seems like there are many issues with the DLA. I think HP fixed it. The installation did not allow the installation of another DLA when it detected that it was already installed. But that's not a problem for me since I'm using Roxio's DLA. DLA allows you to use the drive as a hard drive. You can click/drag from Explorer or save files from applications to disk. (sorry Microsoft doesn't include this as part of the OS so there aren't as many DLA conflicts) Veritas RecordNow is probably the best included software, I'm so impressed with it that I use it exclusively now, drop my old favorite -Cd Creator by Roxio Easy. So far I am very happy with this recorder, it cannot record Memorex +R or +RW discs. I've heard that Ritek, HP (of course) and Verbatim discs also work great with this burner. I haven't tried other discs as I can get a Memorex disc for [$$$] each. Get this burner!
