Friends advised me to buy extra pads for my IP because they absorb odors. So having these three packs in three different colors is very convenient, making it easier to distinguish what I need for a particular dish. So far I've used White/Clear for savory dishes which means I have two of these as it's similar to what comes with IP. I use blue for neutral or sweeter foods (like oatmeal) and black waiting to be backed up for anything that needs backing up I think! They can easily be cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher or by hand with a sponge. But like the pad that comes with the IP, they absolutely retain smells, so use them strategically like I did!
