This is an amazing vacuum cleaner! For years I used my great-grandmother's old Kirby, which I always thought was the Cadillac of vacuums. But after carrying this heavy thing around for so long, I decided to try something different. Well, this Shark vacuum is like driving a Porsche versus a Mac Kirby truck! Not only is it much lighter, but it also maneuvers great! It's quieter and I like that the head is smaller for tight spaces. Most of all, I couldn't believe how much this vacuum cleaner picked up of what my Kirby left behind. As sad as it is to throw away old Kirby, I love my new shark! Sorry great grandmother! Update: After using this vacuum cleaner for a few months I changed my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars and then to 3 due to furniture being damaged by this vacuum cleaner. Continue reading. While I still really like it for the reasons outlined in my original review above, there are a few downsides that I've discovered after using it for a while. It is heavy and can easily tip over. So be careful when you park it lest it fall off and hurt something or someone. yes it happened Made a huge dent in our furniture which I'm not very happy about. I find the position of the power button awkward. A foot switch would have been better. The clip that holds the power cord by the handle doesn't work that well and I often pick the cord off the floor and reattach it while vacuuming. The way the attachments attach to the back when not in use can get in the way and snag on the power cord when rolled back into place after use.
