This is my third purchase of a side impact blade. I bake often and was happy to find a blade that scraped the batter off the sides of the bowl without starting and stopping the mixer. In fact, I now use this blade in place of the one that came with my 6 quart blade. Mixer KA I saw reviews about the dough being collected on the blade. It happens, but it's quickly fixed by removing it with a small spatula and that's it. I've also seen reviews on how to clean this blade. I just use this little spatula to scrape off most of the batter/batter and place the blade in hot water. When I'm ready to wash it, there's practically no batter in it. The reason I gave this a 4 star rating is that the fins broke off. With frequent use, the upper "ribs" that rub against the metal shell begin to break. The missing "fin" does not seriously affect the function of the blade, but manual cleaning becomes necessary. As the second fin begins to fail, I feel the need to replace the tool. While the blade swap is a bit disappointing, the pros far outweigh the cons.
