After purchasing this SideSwipe Paddle product (ignoring the negative reviews and pictures for the first time), I have to say my intuition was correct. The only way these people could have had problems was by misusing the product or ordering the wrong size for the bowl size of the KitchenAid stand mixer. Overall I like this blade. I mix well and work as I hoped. But I still have some concerns, especially since it wasn't cheap. The KitchenAid mixer blade that came with my mixer is 12.89 (12.9)mm inside diameter. The shaft itself has a diameter of 12.65-12.7mm. The inner diameter of the SideSwipe drive shaft blade mount I measured was 13.33mm. As you can see from the attached video, this makes it a bit loose when connected to a mixer. This thing is so good that not only is it the right tool for the job, it makes the standard paddle attachment the WRONG tool. This cuts the time it takes to whip butter and sugar in half, not even counting the breaks to scrape out the bowl. You just don't have to. If you get it, check out this work.
