I've worked without a key for over 10 years and have never looked back. As someone who regularly tests and uses smart home devices, I really enjoyed it when Yale and August worked together - and this product is a perfect example of what I've been waiting for. I have installed several similar locks and have found it on par with others. The first thing to watch out for is to make sure the cylinder is installed properly before attaching the inside handle. Using the Bilt app and watching videos can be very helpful as they show helpful tips that most people usually don't know. This set is truly amazing as it comes with an August Connect Hub and an August Module that fits into the lock itself. This kit provides Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity for Apple HomeKit, SmartThings, phones, Alexa, Google Home and more. I've had absolutely no problems setting this up on my network or getting it to work flawlessly with my August app and iPhone. I can lock and unlock when I'm not at home and it unlocks when I get in range with no issues. I love that they have included the ability to use a 9v battery in case the batteries in the lock run out. Not having a spare key slot in case all else fails is risky and hopefully not a problem. I installed this lock in my outdoor storage room and am very pleased with the easy installation, looks and smooth operation. I recommend this lock for any door without a deadbolt and especially for people who are transitioning to using smart home products.
