I wanted them to work!

We bought these to keep our bearded dragons warm while walking (each of them has a favorite spot) I found these heaters and thought they would work in a concentrated place to keep them warm because I keep my house very cold. However, they don't generate enough heat to melt the ice, or at least not as fast as the description alone would suggest. It was literally like a fan blowing some warmer air, about 3 degrees warmer than inside the house. So it wasn't enough. I also tried heating a separate empty case that I hand made out of wood to see if it would heat up better in a more confined space, and wood holds heat really well. It was only 5 degrees warmer than the first time we tried it outdoors, so I decided that a maximum of 8 degrees wouldn't work for our needs. I contacted an electrician we know to get some information and he helped us by testing it himself and not recommending us to use this product, even if a solution was found, his main complaint and concern was the safety of the whole Structure. It was assembled cheaply with no attention to detail and materials that initially did not match and were not safe for the product. He said the question was not if the fire would start, but WHEN. So we're going to stick with the ceramic heaters we've used so far until we have something new to try. Maybe the 2 we had were defective, for some reason I'm glad we tried them because you don't know until you try! I'm always looking for new things to improve the situation in our house, so I'm glad I tried it, it's just that they will work.
