Review on Fiskars PowerGear Super Pruner/Lopper, 15 Inch by Dave Seawell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent for secateurs

As lawn mowers they are great. They're so light I throw them in my backpack and take them to work. When I'm at a property where I know I'll need them, I'll slip them into the back belt loop and hardly notice they're there. while you cut I feel like my blade broke like that when I loaned it to a colleague. http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Gardening-and-Yard-Care/Loppers/PowerGear-Super-Pruner-Lopper-7972 No questions asked, replacement, got new ones today after forgetting I was have applied. I thought maybe they would send a new blade but instead I got a brand new set. And some people spoke negatively about how the blade aligns with the anvil. no problem if you have some mechanical flair. If you open the levers all the way there is a square stop behind the last gear which will stop it somewhat, but you can reverse the stop and the levers will open freely to the point where the gears are not connected. At this point you can actually change the settings, much like you would with a channel lock pliers. The maw doesn't close on the first two settings, but if you don't have a wider pair of loppers you might be able to use these to cut on a larger branch and then open them up and set to the first setting. cut through Anyway, I don't see any failure of the gears anyway, other than user error. Other negative reviews mention the plastic/rubber anvil and that a blade cutting into it will cause it to wear out over time. That may be true, but I'm wondering if Fiskars takes this into account under the warranty. I will update in the future.
