Review on Cardone 96-5349 Upgraded Power Steering Pump (No Reservoir) by Greg Bellman

I am very satisfied with this component. I have used remanufactured pumps in the past with mixed results. They all did the job of providing enough fluid pressure to drive the power steering system, but not all were equally quiet. When a remanufactured pump is defective, it may have a noisy bearing or an annoying noise that won't go away. This new Cardone Select pump replaced the weak original pump on my Honda Accord 07 and although it was a bit fiddly to remove and replace due to the working space, it worked perfectly and quietly. Usually you get a little whistling noise from the air entering the system when you work on it. Once air is expelled from the system/fluid, it settles down. In this case, and for the first time since I remember, the system was completely silent from the first start. I don't know if it's because of the new pump or because of my careful work, but in any case everything went smoothly and I'm very happy with the result. Next time I need to replace the power steering pump I won't be rolling the dice on a rebuilt unit, just grab one of these new ones.
