I gave away the rest of my box of about a year old Cyalume Snaplights to other members of my family after the power outage, so I got them back. I had a spare Snaplight to compare to the MediTac lights, so I simultaneously clicked and shook one of these and placed it in my darkened bedroom to compare its performance. A few minutes into this test, the Cyalume Snaplight was noticeably brighter, but both still put out enough light to read the packaging they were in. After two hours they were about equally bright, and after six hours the MediTac headlight was still putting out enough light to use as a marker or to navigate a dark room, while the Cyalume Snaplight was almost used up. I should point out that while the Cyalume Snaplight was purchased a little over a year ago, it will expire in three years so its performance shouldn't be affected that much. more important than the presence of bright light in the first hour. The lanyard that came with the MediTac light was the icing on the cake, further increasing its usefulness as a necklace or as a signaling device. I will be buying more of these lights than Cyalume Snaplights in the future.
