This futuristic-looking router offers N-Speed connectivity in a sleek chassis with an antenna and four Ethernet ports. If you have a basic network you probably won't have any problems, but be patient if you want to connect less common devices like a network bridge. The included LELA Wizard CD makes installation and connecting to the Internet a breeze once you know what type of security (WPA, 64-bit, or 128-bit WEP) you need. All our computers - Mac and PC - are connected to each other. Likewise, our iPhone and Wii connected to the wireless network without incident. However, I bought this router to improve video streaming and VoIP, which required a network bridge connection. WPA security wasn't working to get my Linksys Wireless-N Dual Band Game Adapter online, so we switched to WEP. This process took a lot of patience as the router had trouble identifying the adapter and it was made by the same company. However, the problem may be with the bridge and not the router. The four additional Ethernet ports are great for those who have Ooma, game consoles and other wired devices in the same room as the router, and if that's your location you'll find great setup and performance as well as speed. As the scope expands, it's important that users set their security settings properly. It's fully backwards compatible with Wireless G and B, although obviously you won't get N speeds on those devices. The latency when connecting computers to the wireless network is significantly longer than with our Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G router, but the Internet connection is more stable. faster and more reliable connection.
