Bring your own screws and tools

Background: I came across this listing for $130 and thought I might use another project. I've had good experiences using Python and Pis for fun, so this seemed like a good fit for me. WHEN PURCHASING: Countersunk screws in countersunk holes. Below I have a small list of nuts and bolts you will need for assembly. Assembly: Put simply, instructions. a little indistinct. The videos on the Yahboom website helped, but they fast forward and are pretty hard to follow. Instead, I watched each 3-5 minute video a few times and went through the instructions. Assembly took 2 hours and I spent most of my time assembling the extremely uncomfortable camera gimbal. I tried removing the protective paper from the acrylic but quickly gave up. Once I assembled the camera gimbal, the rest of the kit was a breeze. As the instructions say, it's a little tricky to install the servo wires after you've installed the bottom frame, which requires some dexterity with tweezers. I suggest having the following on hand for assembly: - A good set of Phillips sockets for heavy duty screws are included. - A pair of decent tweezers - Vernier calipers for measuring parts (no labels on the parts bags) - A set of the following mounting screws: - M3 10 nuts - M3x5 6 screws - M3x8 50 screws - M2 4 nuts -- M2x6 6 screws. With that: I could Download a generic 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS image to my Pi and use the example python code on the Yahboom website to get started. The code is for example only, so I used it as a guide. A few hours later, the tank was moved with the Pi by pressing a button in an SSH session. After a few hours of fiddling, I have a few MJPEG feeds from the included webcam and an optional USB webcam. I was very happy that everything came out of the box with the standard Raspberry Pi OS image and I didn't have to work with the Yahboom image. Final Verdict: This is amazing if you're an adult or late teen comfortable with Raspberry. Peace, Linux and Python. This is NOT A TOY and you will be very disappointed if you are expecting it. If equipped, I would give 4 stars.
