Review on Suehiro CERAX Soaking Whetstone Sharpening by James Eledge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Moderate cutting performance for me

I get what I paid 41 for including shipping. I have nothing to complain about. This is a true 1K brick. Somebody must be really upset because this bastard is a sissy. I had to soak for 10-15 minutes. Compared to those little edge pros I got from Ben Direct 5 years ago. Anyone who sucks water quickly only had 3-5 minutes to go. As soon as you give him something to drink, he starts to work without complaint. I was hoping for a faster cut, but the price could be cheaper compared to the king's stone, you just can't get a better stone. For example, the metal sticks there, but it's easy to wash off if not. I have a lot of Nagura Stone for myself, it doesn't bother me. (have used King 8K Nagura or one of Kitiyama's kits works great) Unless I've used a lot of Nagura I'm unlikely to get a slurry out of this stone. Something to think about if you like it. Won't replace Chaucer or Shepton for you. However, you get what you pay for. You don't have time, but money can be saved so that Chosera or Shapton forget to look for another stone. For price and product. I would definitely prefer that to a king. Not that the king is bad. Suehiro Cerax is just more real estate than King and I sharpen a lot. The seller who sold me is also a big plus. Protect the stone with an additional bubble wrap. I'm not complaining at all.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of style
