50% of the time it works every time.

Cons: Issues with transducer/sounder, power cord, memory card/lack of instructions. Pros: Ability to map the lake or download maps from Genesis. I've been waiting for a fish finder like this for a long time, but will soon get another one, Garmin or Humminbird. In about 50% of the cases the sensor does not work. You get a water temp reading to know it's plugged in, but the sonar portion doesn't work. It takes a few minutes to unplug it, plug it back in, and restart before it works. I used it a few times a week when I first bought it in April 2020 until I moved in July 2020 then my boat sat until May 20th 2021 and when I went fishing the thing settled not turn on at all. The next day I discovered it was a bad connection at the fuse box and I know it could be entirely my fault. However, the power cord to this unit is likely 18-24 gauge wire so thin it is difficult to get an effective crimp on the cord connector, which is my problem. I took the boat out again on May 23rd and it charged, but again I spent a few minutes getting the sensor to work. If it works, although I think it works well, I can't say it helped me catch anything, but to be able to map sea depths and load maps from C-Map Genesis is great and probably helps me the most. As someone here pointed out, the largest memory card it can hold is 32GB, which I also found out after buying a 64GB card. Luckily I already had 32 GB in my GoPro and was just able to exchange it. That information didn't pan out and I had to do a little research to find out why the 64GB card wasn't working.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
