Review on ๐Ÿ”ง PicoEVB Artix-7 FPGA Kit: Next-Gen M.2 NGFF PCIe MGT Development Board by Amanda Quinn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best Low Cost PCIe FPGA Solution

PicoEVB is the cheapest PCIe FPGA solution I could find. It was really easy to get it working on Linux, harder on Windows due to overly reliable Windows driver signing, but I got it working fairly quickly. All the necessary initial code and product information is on Github, so getting started was quick and easy. The only downside of this device is that it needs an M.2 A/E dongle as it requires USB for FTDI interface and most modern laptops only have one such port which is usually occupied by Wi-Fi/Bluetooth .

Pros
  • It's OK!
Cons
  • Expensive
