Review on FloodStop FS3/8CD Sink (Hot and Cold) Compression Valve FloodStop: Ultimate Leak Protection by Satish Tegan

Last year I installed a Ready Hot instant hot/cold water dispenser paired with a Filtrete Maximum undercounter water filter. Online reviews of both items indicated that leaks could be an issue. To avoid possible damage and have more security, I installed Flood Stop along with both. I also installed an Xtreme Mats Under Sink Kitchen Cabinet Rug under the sink to better contain leaks and ensure they are found quickly with Flood Stop. The instructions for the FloodStop weren't very good (they focused on the washing machine model of this unit), but the company was quick to email my questions after I called them. One area for improvement is the lack of strain relief on the wire connections to the valves and control box. I've secured the low voltage wires to the side of the case with insulated clips so they don't pull out during normal use. my Ready Hot, along with a copper wire that runs through the subway and across the room to my fridge. Having had water leaks from the fridge in the past, I decided to purchase an additional leak sensor and use an 18/2 thermostat cable to extend the water detection to the area under the fridge if a leak ever occurs there. It would be easier to install a completely separate FloodStop system for the fridge (I wouldn't have to run 18/2 wire through the subfloor and into the walls). However, since the fridge lines are now fed with filtered water under my sink, it was a lot cheaper to just add a sensor than to buy an entirely separate cooling unit. of plumbing under the sink will result in an alarm and automatic shutdown rather than flooding and property damage!
