Review on 🛹 Atom Pin-Tail Longboard (39-Inch): The Ultimate Board for Smooth Cruising and Speed by Mark Hayes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great board for beginners

I bought this board a little over a year ago to learn the basics of longboarding. Was pleasantly surprised upon receipt. I weigh 160 pounds and the board hasn't cracked yet. When I jump, it bends just an inch under my weight. As far as board components go, the trucks are pretty good. I had no problems at all with trucks. I use this board for rough roads. However, after my skill started to improve, I noticed that the board was vibrating a lot and making a rattling noise on the streets. To improve this, I've started replacing the plastic risers with rubber risers. This helped a little, but the problem remained. After that, I replaced the hard 65mm wheels with 69mm 78A Sector 9 wheels, which pretty much solved my problems. My board now rides very smoothly over rough terrain. This and the new bearings also made the board much faster and lasted longer when pushed. My guess is that this is due to counter-productive vibrations not slowing down the board. In summary, if you're just starting out and find a good deal on this board, you'll try, but you'll eventually want to improve. If you're trying to improve it, I think it's more cost-effective to buy a better board first. Below is a list of what I have purchased. 30 (good deal on wheels) + 15 (new bearings) + 5 (rubber risers) ___ 50 Having added that 50 to the price of this board I think it would be better to buy a higher quality board first. Although in reality it is the buyer's choice. There really isn't anything wrong with the board. I learned that and it didn't really break me or anything. For my needs it just needed some improvement.
