It will take a few months at most. Cheap junk.

This is the 3rd tailgate handle I've been through this year on my 1994 Blazer (Dorman, AC Delco, APDTY), regardless of brand, all of these replacement parts are pure junk that only last a few months. This one gets 2 stars instead of 1 because it at least comes with a retaining clip (although it's still not remotely secure. Even a 5 year old can break this thing, all it takes is a slight left turn with no key there inside and becomes a paperweight.
