Great EV charger to use the electric dryer socket

In May 2021 I rented our first electric car, a KIA Niro EV and bought a split volt charger to serve as a level 2 charger because now I have I haven't decided whether to buy a permanent electric vehicle charger that's installed in our garage. Our home was built to connect to natural gas and an electric dryer, and we use gas, so a 30 amp NEMA 14-30 outlet was not used. After a long research, I decided to buy a split volt 24A charger, which I have not regretted at all. The device is very high quality processed, there have never been any problems with it. Once plugged in, the Niro EV starts charging within a few seconds. The vehicle states that the charge current is typically 5.3kW or 5.4kW (within 2% to 80% of the charge) so the split volt charger delivers a full 24A. The Niro EV has a 64kWh battery and can be charged from 5% to 90% SOC in about 10 hours. Our laundry is next to the garage, so I also bought a 30-foot heavy-duty NEMA 14-30 M/F power strip. Wire from dryer outlet to front of garage. Then I connect my split volt charger to it. I only charge once a week so I just roll up the extension cord and put it in the wash after each charge. I have to leave the laundry door ajar so the cable can run into the garage, but I charge at night (which I would) so that not much heat gets into the laundry room and house (we live in south Louisiana). I was confident that I would have bought a wall charger by now due to the (expected) degradation of my current charging solution, but it would cost an electrician $1,500 to install a 50-amp outlet in the garage. Additionally, the wall charger costs $700. My poor husband's solution of a split-volt charger and power strip (just under $400) works very well, and it's not as tedious as I expected to unwind and rewind a heavy power strip for each charge. I'll probably end up buying a wall charger, but I'm in no rush.
