Strong Aesthetic -

As mentioned, these grips are HARD. The black lining isn't rubbery like the grips themselves, it's a plastic tube, similar to the Shop-Vac's extension tube, that doesn't move at all. However, as others have pointed out, they look great when installed as long as they match the style you're going for. In other words, they fulfill the role better than no grips at all, while still having an appealing look for a particular style - pure aesthetics.
