My 18 year old version died so I bought this replacement. Like many others, the new check valve works intermittently. Sometimes some or all of the water flows back; Otherwise, the check valve will function normally. My old check valve always worked, but I accidentally threw it away before installing the new pump. I don't understand Little Giant's valve policy that others have written about - you have enough strength to install and remove the pump under warranty, but not enough strength to use a wrench to remove and replace the pump. dead check valve so you have to return the whole block? I put one of these in because I need the A/C to run and I don't have to spend weeks emptying the bucket by hand while the little giant handles the warranty, so I'm forced to buy a new valve (plus it's probably a flush to back pump boost compared to the cost of a new valve) or live with the occasional gurgle (I'm doing this now - I can wait until winter for the valve). I suspect they decided to make a few extra bucks by shielding their customers and only inspecting/testing the valves they sell individually. 5 stars for replacement pump form/fit/function and 1 star for the check valve - 3 stars. So save your old check valve in case it works in case the new one turns out to be junk!
