Installed but it could have been easier.

Bought this unit to replace my Chamberlain unit which is at least 12 years old. This device is fundamentally designed to be both economical and easy to ship, so compromises have been made. The railing consists of four individual parts that are joined together and made of light metal. In comparison, the Chamberlain block is massive and made of heavy metal. Also, they used the most plastic on this device. Even the pulley around which the chain rotates is made of plastic. Not an engineer - but that can't be good. As for the installation, they could have made it easier. The documentation does not fully explain the steps and assumes the user knows or adopts common sense. Unfortunately, such assumptions increase installation time. Also, installation could be easier if they included some extra parts to work with existing installations. . eg handrail attachment. Depending on the type of door and its size, you may need to purchase some additional items - screws, bolts, etc. Not expensive - but an awkward walk to the store. Conclusion - this device seems to be made at a competitive price. . do not expect too much. I was finally able to install - 2 days of effort and so far everything works. I had a problem programming the doorstops and had to call them. The person answered and the solution was relatively easy. Again, if it were in the manual it might save me some more time. All in all, I'm glad I was able to get it working. If I had to do it again, I would buy a better device.

Pros

Cons
