Review on Bilstein 24 221948 Shock Absorber Millimeter by Sean Sheppard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

1 month old GM conversion car

Bought an excellent GM Savana based '2500' conversion car. However, the journey was so exhausting that we could not enjoy it. Our 1997 Chevy Express 1500 with KYB shocks drives like a sedan. The installation of front and rear Bilstien discs has allowed this new van to drive almost as well as the '97. I've "tormented" 50 years and never even thought that shock absorbers can take a ride from totally unacceptable to totally awesome. Worth every penny. They're also nicely finished, although I did coat them with Cosmolene anti-rust (waxy) before installing them. BTW, both front and rear were 100% factory. However, please note that these shock absorbers are NOT made in Germany. "Bilstein Germany" is written on the packaging. The item says "Made in Mexico". I don't care except that the marketing is misleading. (I'm German, but don't let all that German quality fool you :-) Bottom line is, if you're driving a 1500 GM van by type, you can't get these SUPERB Bilsteins fast enough. You will be just as "shocked" as I am.
