Review on 🌹 Elegant Rose Flavored Ivory Linen: Perfect for Needlework and Cross Stitching by Denise Davis

Strange fabric, NOT Aida, maybe not linen!

Considering the price I was skeptical of what I would get when ordering this fabric. Some reviews are great, some aren't. I took a risk The first thing you can immediately tell from the packaging is the stiff and rough fabric to the touch, it definitely had a strong sizing/strength. Soak in hot water with dish soap for 30 minutes, rinse and dry. It's lost its stiffness but not its roughness and it's spread out like crazy just from slight agitation in the sink - DO NOT MACHINE WASH THIS FABRIC! The fabric is translucent, light, even thin. Can this be used for embroidery or needles? Possible, but with a reinforced iron like Pellon's Shape Flex. I cut a piece in half and soak one half in a walnut crystal solution to "age" it. I then microwaved the painted piece for 3 minutes to set the paint and some *age* lines. You can see the difference in my photos. I'll most likely use the painted piece on some ugly primitive looking dolls. In the 2nd photo with arrows you can see the fold lines from where the fabric was in the package. I was very surprised that after soaking the fabric in hot water, they didn't loosen up, as if the creases were gone forever. Well you get what you pay for so I'm not really disappointed BUT the product name is MEDIUM and should be changed ASAP!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons

Loved the quality, not too stiff but strong. Used it to create my embroidery art pieces.
