Can't speak for durability but this little starter spins my big block like a top. Kate too. Easy installation and full customization with clean headers. Very happy. Came with 2 pads, I needed 4 on my 71 old one. The OEM had two that I reused. There is no "R" connection to bypass the coil ballast resistor. However, since it is so easy to start the engine by simply leaving it unplugged, this is not a problem for most applications. If it's just a 20A diode, take it and connect it to the "S" terminal.
