Works great just what I need! I have a walk in kitchen with a back door to the yard. I have 4 small dogs that don't go into the kitchen (and backyard through the pet door) at night and when I leave the house. I have been using normal baby gates for 2 interior doors for many years. Because of this I almost never used a door and installed/dismantled other gates when needed. With these semi-permanent gates I now use both doors and don't have to support the old child's gate when not in use. The gate closes easily when you let go and locks into place. I installed a screw-in metal grommet under the counter next to each door. So if I want the gate to stay open I just hang a very small bungee cord between the gate frame and the loop. I am VERY happy with the purchase of this product!
