I've had this fan for about three months - it takes some time with a product like this to really appreciate it, beyond the simple beauty of this fan. This fan gets 5 stars in every category: looks, performance, sound, packaging, customer service and of course value for money. We have 7 fans in our home from more than one quality supplier, we have spent countless hours finding fans for our rooms to match the decor - this one was no different - and we all know that much smaller products can cost a lot more . Background. This fan was for our large room. Decor - brown oak and metallic - mostly blued brass. We really wanted something unique, but something that wouldn't clutter up the space either in size or in design. Being a Florida home we also needed excellent performance and it needed to be quiet so we couldn't enjoy the space. I think we didn't find Star Fans until page 10 of our Google search, but it was worth the effort. What was surprising was how difficult it was to find a dark brown natural wood fan blade. There's tons of walnut, cherry, and lots of the usual suspects, but real wood eliminated a lot of players, and then finding 'brown' was a big challenge. It's a beautiful fan - I've posted some pictures. wenge colour. I actually had to google "revenge" to find out what color it really was. It was a great game. It has a red tint when you hold the blades in your hands and the light shines on it, but when you go up you can't see the red because there's no bright direct light falling on it. The "vengevenge" color we bought refers to the Venge blades - and yes, they're real wood - and the Venge motor housing. They offer a wide range of blade and engine color combinations. The really cool part is the polycarbonate body around the engine case. This is truly a one of a kind fan and the looks are amazing. It suits our modern home as well as many other styles. Everyone who sees it remarks on its uniqueness and simple beauty. The blades are "propeller"-like, but not overly so - you don't "see the propeller" when you look at it. The bolts holding the blades in place were stainless steel - we plated them to match the brass in our furniture. It's just a very well thought out, elegant yet simple, unique design and we are so lucky to have it in our home. We were also pleasantly surprised in terms of performance. The house has an open floor plan, one large room 17x18. We really thought we needed a 60" fan, but we wanted this fan so bad that we went with it even though it's a 52" fan. Well, the blade design is so good that we don't even work at high speed. We use low, medium most of the time when we need to cool down the house after leaving the house or when there are multiple people going in and out of Lania. We have 9ft ceilings not 13ft but you can get rods if you need them. This is a traditional AC fan with a 3-speed controller (included) built into a wall box. If desired, there is space in the motor housing to add a radio receiver. We didn't pick that, it stays low pretty much all the time, day and night. The really good news is that this fan is silent - I mean silent. Perfect balance - no ticking, no engine noise. All you can hear is the sound of the air - a little more in the mids and a little more in the highs, as you'd expect. This fan works as good as it looks. This fan was very easy to put together - it's very, very strong and well made, but not heavy - it can be installed by one person. Wood blades aren't heavy hardwood - not quite sure what they are - but they're lightweight and take stains/paint well. The visible fittings are fully finished in Venge or stainless steel. The packaging was great too. The blades were packed separately in foam and boxed in a cardboard box, same goes for the motor assembly and case. Both boxes were then repackaged in a shipping carton with additional material to keep everything safe and sound (other vendors should take a lesson). As for the cost, check the price on Revain. You won't get a fan of this type and quality for a few hundred bucks - but that's a far cry from the cost of many of the more well-known high-end brands. This fan is actually an amazing value. And — wait — real live human customer support. I have worked with Alexa on many pre-purchase color and design issues and she has been amazingly responsive, knowledgeable and helpful.
