Regulator did not fit and auto lower issues

The item description says it fits my 1999 Ford F150 but the trace on the regulator where the screws are attached did not match the window. It was about half an inch longer. Also, after resizing the element with my old adjuster's track on the new one, my window's auto down function didn't work properly. The window only went down a few inches each time the auto down button was pressed, and I read another review describing the same auto down issue.
