Review on High Performance Motorcraft FA-1908 Air Filter by Isaiah Boys

I bought this filter for a 2012 Ford Focus SE 2.0L. I prefer original parts and this filter is a genuine Ford part. I don't know when the filter was last changed on the car, but I noticed a difference between the old filter and this original Ford filter. The difference is that the new filter has a small mounting groove that must match the corresponding groove on the filter housing. My guess is that the old filter I removed wasn't a genuine Ford part as it didn't have a cut out like the new filter. I will say that the filter requires some hand strength to ensure it is properly seated, but it fits snugly. . Didn't have to crimp the filter like other reviewers have mentioned. Instead, I simply inserted the filter into the frosted side of the air intake until I could fit the outer ring into the filter housing (pics attached). It did not last long. At the same time as changing the air filter I also removed the mass air flow sensor and cleaned it with a CRC MAF cleaner: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091KCH6U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Change took the air filter and cleaned that Housing and the MAF took a total of about 20 minutes. However, note that I removed the parts completely to make sure I cleaned them well. As for the filter, it's a genuine Ford part that fits exactly, but is just right. I will definitely buy it again.
