I have bought many of these corkscrews for myself and friends and have written very positive reviews about them. But two of the last machines I bought were seriously defective; on one the screw broke at the point of attachment, on the other the screw was oddly destroyed so that each turn of the screw almost touched what was up and what was down. Both of these shortcomings indicate that the screw is made of fairly soft steel. So now I have one corkscrew with no screw and another with a broken screw that won't screw into the cork! Sellers must rate their product internally.
