The eco-friendly choice for freezer/storage/sandwiches

These bags work just like the regular plastic bags you buy at the grocery store. They seal well. You can put them in the fridge or freezer and they're sealed, won't leak or smell. Just don't heat them in the microwave (I haven't tried, but I wonder what happens). The big difference is that these bags are made from corn and not petroleum products (as is the case with plastic). They're more sustainable to make, and because they're 100% compostable, they're a lot more sustainable if you recycle them. Another thing that differs from regular plastic bags is that you can see through them as well. And there's something written on one side that makes that side even harder to see. They're also a bit more expensive, but for me it's worth doing my part to reduce pollution. When you're done with these bags, don't throw them in the trash. You'll be locked in that plastic garbage bag for years (maybe decades). Instead, throw them in the compost. If like me you don't have a compost bin, just bury them in the soil (yes it works - they don't decompose as quickly, but they're still gone in 6-9 months while you add a little soil food to process - this is called "trench composting").

Pros

Cons
