These biodegradable ziplock bags work just like regular plastic ziplock bags. I like the feel of the material. It is soft and elastic. These bags are not see-through. So you may have to open them to see what's inside, or you may want to label them. Of course, they're more expensive than ordinary plastic, but they give you peace of mind that you're not using a product that will stay in the ground for centuries or maybe never break. The manufacturer claims these bags decompose in about 90 days…

Pros
  • 🌳 DONATION WITH EVERY PURCHASE | We offset our carbon footprint with our products by donating 10% of ONETREEPLANTED's profits to help restore our forests.
Cons
  • Newer model could have been selected

The eco-friendly choice for freezer/storage/sandwiches

These bags work just like the regular plastic bags you buy at the grocery store. They seal well. You can put them in the fridge or freezer and they're sealed, won't leak or smell. Just don't heat them in the microwave (I haven't tried, but I wonder what happens). The big difference is that these bags are made from corn and not petroleum products (as is the case with plastic). They're more sustainable to make, and because they're 100% compostable, they're a lot more sustainable if you recycle…

Pros
  • We're made of corn! But don't eat us. Your zip bags will decompose under composting conditions within 90 days. Certified by BPI and DIN according to ASTM D6400.
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

Interesting concept

With my son still doing most of my shopping due to the pandemic, I forget to tell him I need things that at the grocery store would encourage me to remind myself I need them. Here's how I did it using plastic bags for storage. I have a vacuum sealer, but I don't want to take it out just for a few things. When I saw it was available I jumped on it. First, I don't understand why things that are supposed to be good for the environment always cost so much more. These bags currently cost 25 cents…

Pros
  • 🍎 MULTIFUNCTIONAL | Our bags can be stored in the freezer, making them ideal for leftover storage and meal prep. Designed for all your food organization and storage needs; Store snacks, meat, fresh produce and more. The pouches are not recommended for use in a microwave oven or for storing liquids. Due to their biodegradable nature, they cannot be used for long-term storage (more than 9 months).
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
