To be honest the description says there is a spike at the end of this rag so it's my fault. I just didn't realize how much it would bother me when I bought this, pulling dust and cobwebs out of the corners of my apartment's ceiling. The tip prevents the rag from getting into corners or edges. Luckily it's flexible so I just folded it in half but that seems odd from a design point of view. In any case, it collects dust well, looks sturdy and is easy to clean.
