Review on πŸ”§ Beduan Regulator Compressor Gauge System by Ben Demers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No leaks at 120psi, tight, good value but no safety label on unit

Failed to load medium. I use a Beduan AF803C air filter in my 120 PSI home air system as the penultimate filter for the HVLP sprayer I use for paint applications. Check out our review: Good: -- NO AIR LEAKS: After a few attempts to seal the fitting with Teflon tape and other thread sealant, the unit optically seals on the fittings and cup rim at pressures up to 120psi. Watch the attached video as we spray soapy water to detect leaks. -- FILTER 5 MICRON: The filter element is clearly marked. My main concern is pollution from the large filter drier I installed in front of the Beduan and in 2 days of continuous use I have not seen any pollution in the bottle or on the filter. The filter element looks the same as many others I've seen so I believe it will provide some filtering. You can see the desiccant bottle upstream in the attached photos and videos. - AIR RELEASE VALVE FUNCTION: The spring loaded valve at the bottom is airtight and when pressed it releases air and closes again when you release it. -- VIEW WINDOW: The clear plastic poly bottle is encased in a protective case to protect users from fragments if the bottle breaks, and the body has slits that allow the bottle to be inspected for dirt without disassembling the device. In decades of using air filters, I have never seen a plastic bottle crack or break. -- AIRFLOW DIRECTION IS WELL MARKED: The arrows are part of the metal mold, and each port is marked "IN" and "OUT" to indicate the direction of airflow, and they are easy to see and will not rub off. See attached picture. - VERY GOOD PRICE: At the time of writing this review, the device cost $22, about 20% less than comparable devices at your local import store. Could be better: one. There should be warnings and labels for maximum air pressure etc. similar to those shown in the attached image. I'm surprised it meets US safety or OSHA requirements for something that works under high pressure. -- NO COUNTRY OF MANUFACTURE: The device is not marked with the country of manufacture required for sale in the United States. -- LOVED MARKETING STATEMENTS: They claim a semi-automatic flush mode that I think they would like consumers to interpret as flushing automatically. This actually means that there is a spring that closes the valve once you push it down. CONCLUSION: The Beduan filter is tight, good price, but has no markings, incl. warning labels for maximum pressure and I will report any problems over the next few months. I withdraw 1 star because of the lack of a safety label that lists the maximum air pressure. If you found this review helpful, please vote "Useful" using the button below.
