Not for making lotion bars

For those looking for a lotion form this may not be for you. I bought these to make homemade lotion bars and found they didn't work for me. First, the shape cups are HUGE. If I follow a recipe that asks to make 2 bars, there is enough liquid to make 2 bars and they all fit in ONE of these molds. If you're still trying to perfect your bars, it's useless. Second, because the mold is so huge and shaped, the lotion (once cured) stays very soft and brittle in the part of the mold that gives it its shape (i.e. petals, mandala design, whatever). A couple of my lotion bars broke in half and crumbled because the mold was too thick and my bars were struggling to set properly. Third, the mold is incredibly fragile, which I think is normal as long as you know you're putting a baking sheet underneath. Not me. My mistake. I gave him 4 tiles anyway because the shapes were ok - they just didn't work for what I needed. It could have been used for other things, but it just didn't work for my lotions.

  • For making chocolate, bread, pudding etc. Or even unique soap or ice cubes.
