Seems to work well in the safety category

I installed this at ceiling level in my kitchen just before installing a new gas range. The technician who installed my oven's gas line caused a small gas leak while installing the oven and the alarm went off fairly quickly. It was quite loud, loud enough that I could easily hear it in another room, although I might not have heard it if I was down in the basement. I'm happy with it so far, but have only had it installed for a week or so.
