I have been using this caliper for several months and am quite happy with it. I was immediately impressed by its weight and build quality, and it ran smoothly throughout stance without the harshness that many cheap and not-so-cheap calipers exhibit today. I've used pretty much everything out there for 40 years plus whatever machines I've made - Starrett, Brown and Sharp, Canon, Mitutoya, Enko etc etc and for $30 you can't beat this caliper. In fact, I'm not sure it's possible to beat it with calipers that cost three or four times as much. It is consistent and accurate - I first checked a series of readings with micrometers to ensure the instrument was absolutely accurate at various points, which I checked in the 0 to 6 range of the caliper. I trust the readings from this tool as much as if I were holding one of the most expensive calipers from a reputable manufacturer.
