Smooth action. Great tool.

I bought these for home use. They arrived on time and well packaged. I really wasn't expecting much. Those were wonderful things. Good construction, precise dial pointer and hardened stainless steel. The measuring faces are well lapped. I didn't take them to work and checked them with gauge blocks. I've compared them to other things of known size and they're pretty accurate. Yes, they were made in China. As well as the branded products I use at work from an American company. You can buy both…

I am very impressed with this caliper.

I have been using this caliper for several months and am quite happy with it. I was immediately impressed by its weight and build quality, and it ran smoothly throughout stance without the harshness that many cheap and not-so-cheap calipers exhibit today. I've used pretty much everything out there for 40 years plus whatever machines I've made - Starrett, Brown and Sharp, Canon, Mitutoya, Enko etc etc and for $30 you can't beat this caliper. some weird fish

my problem is finding a 4 inch caliper with a real dial. Most 4 inch calipers have a small knurled plug that looks a bit like an adjustment wheel but isn't really. I'm having a hard time getting sufficiently accurate readings with a simple sliding motion. The wheel offers much better control, especially in tight spaces.
