Review on πŸ”’ Maximize Control and Safety with Hopkins 47225 Brake Force Plug-in Simple Brake Control by Matthew Outlaw

Revainrating 1 out of 5

3 very bad warehouse deals :(

Insight, Agility and Stopping Power Bought from Warehouse Deal. Insight - Good condition; Stopping Power - Like new condition and returned to Revain Most items looked unused apart from (1) this person madly glued a mounting bracket to the 'old' control module (so I couldn't install it anymore); (2) this person took all the assembly line to install the new control and display module so I could nothing to install; (3) the display (from previous use) was dirty with some kind of solvent so it's not clearly legible; and (4) the only new thing was the controller brain, but I couldn't even mount it ( see #2) or try a display or control module (see #1 and #3) (Braking Power) I was speechless when I opened my item with an "As New" stock offer net. Whoever bought this item and returned it to Revain earlier, h The ad probably replaced a used (many years old) with a new one. Mine arrived with owner's manuals listing cars from the early 90's, although the box lists the 2018 version. The brake controller itself has a stamp that appears to be dated, probably 11 or 12 (guess it here). However, the worst thing about this warehouse deal was that I could see that the buttons (soft ABS plastic) were smeared with dirty grease, with dark colors covering 99% of the gray buttons. The outer plastic case was scratched, as was the display. There is no bracket in the package but I believe there should be. However, there were 4 holes on the brake adjuster itself, all scratched from the assembly. I have no doubt it was replaced by a previous buyer. I hope Revain will up the ante to verify the condition of returned items. So he doesn't have to come back like this a second time. (Skill) Warehouse Deal - Good: Came with the missing parts to install the strut. That's the good part. Previously someone dropped the brake handle and split the rear with a very visible gap. Well, you really can't give up proportional braking control and expect any kind of damage to the inertial mechanism. Like new, probably not used for a long time.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Reliability
