If it doesn't work the first time, just try again.

So after reading all the hype about how awesome Kraken is I decided to swap out my DeepCool Captain 240ex and see if it gets any better. I chose the x62.2 version and installed it on my Elite NZXT S340. Perfect match, right? Well, no, the first problem: The main memory of the Asus Crosshair 6 Hero sits very close to the processor socket. So I couldn't install the pump straight. I had to tilt it so that the logo was now off-center. Well I guess let's see if it's worth making my OCD mistake every time I look at my computer. Everything is installed and the PC is running. Immediate error. CPU over temperature won't boot. Uninstall, reinsert, reinstall, reboot. Processor overheating. GRRRR. Ignore CPU over temperature and boot Windows. Run the CAM (it's terrible software!) and the pump speed shows 0. I literally tried everything before finally contacting Revain and NZXT to replace the pump as a google search shows this to be a VERY common problem. Revain was of course the first to offer a replacement and thanked God for the excellent customer service. The new pump is coming tomorrow, but at the moment I'm looking for another AIO. I'll install and try it, but one more error and it's in the trash. So be careful with one, if you have AMD or other platforms you may not be able to install the pump properly, and with two if you have CPU temperature issues, the pump most likely will not work. Much luck! Update: The 2nd pump arrived today and fortunately works great. I hope there are no further problems. Now that the processor is properly cooled, I can comment on its efficiency. I have used several different air coolers as well as AIOs and I can say that the Kraken is the nicest on the market. It does an amazing job keeping my overclocked 1700x at a cool 26 degrees idle and an impressive 60 degrees under load. Coming straight from the DeepCool Captain 240ex, these temperatures are around 10-20 degrees cooler with no other changes than the AIO. I'll keep testing and see how well it works. If you have a good pump, you should be fine!
