Navy blue blacks out all the light except around the edges

I had already purchased the Citadel for a bedroom and they block out all the light except for around the edges. Citadel is a medium color and it worked very well to black out the light. The curtains seem to be well made so I purchased them again in the navy blue for my dining room. The one thing I have not done to either pair yet is laundered them so I know I will be careful to put them in a zippered pillowcase by themselves on a gentle cycle with cold water hopefully it will work out will let you know if it's an issue.
