Review on 16-Core, 32-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X by Micha Pirecki ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

As an the 3950x without a clear need, I would not recommend it. It is interesting that in some loads, the processor can give out 4.5 GHz to all cores :D Now let's talk about overclocking and PBO, to be honest I don't see the point in this action for this stone. He himself in default (plugged in and turned on) is boosted almost to 5GHz. And yet still hot. So I didn't even try it.

Pros
  • The system is more responsive compared to the 3950x. Some slowdowns and random UI stutters have disappeared. The performance of the system in relation to the 3950x did not increase much. Compilation speed +/- is the same. The real frequency without PBO under load on 1 core is boosted to 4.975 GHz Now let's talk about games. Although I almost don’t play games, in those that I play, fps has grown noticeably, and the gameplay has become smoother.
Cons
  • With the same TPD as the 3950x with the same CBO without PBO turned on, we get temperatures 10-15 degrees higher. Which go up to 90 degrees. the memory controller is the same as in the 3950x. Price, it is even more expensive than the 3950x at the start
