The locking mechanism has a major design flaw. The "flat" part through which the spindle and connecting rod pass is wider than the cylindrical part. It doesn't fit my doors without removing the wood which is very time consuming. It wasn't a problem with the Schlage locks I installed on the same doors a few years ago. What should have taken 5 minutes became a tedious job due to poor design. The instructions seem to have been translated from another language. Since Yale can't do something like this easily, I won't buy any of their products in the future.
