They are well made and ready to use with standard lead-free solder. Installation on my Weller soldering station was painless and easy, taking less than a minute as the tip had never been changed before. However, if you are used to using the standard tip that comes with your soldering station, you should know that these tips are much, much better than the ones that come with them. The tip fits into a point comparable to a needle and it is very difficult to get the solder to stick to the tip. He likes to bead 3-6mm on the back which makes it quite difficult to apply on a flat surface. I ended up sanding the tips of some of them to make them easier to use. Again, this isn't a problem with the product, just something to be aware of if you're just looking to replace the nozzle that came with it.
