Review on ๐Ÿด Uncover Endless Adventure with Pirates Caribbean DVD Treasure Hunt by Michael Glassburn

The DVD makes the game labor intensive.

You're buying this game for the DVD, right? Sounds cool. Sounds funny. Unfortunately, the DVD is the worst part of the game. The way it's designed is very clever and professional but it takes loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo having ten seconds to be able to move your ship in ten seconds max. Big. Now get your location numbers off the game board and put them in the DVD = it stops there. The process may take a minute. Press the PLAY button. "That must be cool!" Sigh . . . In most cases (especially at sea) the video clips say something like "Nothing does this turn". Hmm, well, that was a lot of wasted effort. The process was also boring. Now multiply that experience 30 or 40 times. If it takes you a full minute to flip a card in a game and it says "Nothing Happens" 8 times out of 10, you can imagine how boring that would be. The real problem with this game is the use of DVD technology. Suppose you landed on the 75/40 field. To get to the video results, you need to press the "up arrowโ€ on the remote control. This loads a new page which is now 15/0, Up Arrow reloads a page which reads 25/0, Up Arrow 35/0, Up Arrow 45 /0, page load up, 55/0, up, page load, 65/0, up, page load 75/0. Now do the same for the second number - 75/10. 75/20, 75/30, 74/40. Sigh. The design looks good, but the game drags. Will you enjoy the game? Of course. The game itself is easy to pick up (although the short guide should make it clear that you're trying to get to the ports, not sail across the seas) and moderately entertaining. But I suspect the game will be on your shelves very soon, as the painstaking nature of developing it will overshadow the game's benefits. Also, being an official Pirates game, it's also quite annoying that it doesn't have any clips from the movies you watch while playing the game - no funny clips of Captain Jack Sparrow for bad moves - nothing clever about it. The movie connection is more of a side connection, so don't expect anything like that. When they talk about "film clips" they think of it in the simplest sense - like silent film stills on a menu. "Aha! Now marketers can say we have film stills!" Basically, there are far better games to invest money and time in - save your loot for another day.
